Confirmed: Barcelona sign highly-rated 15-year-old Spanish midfield talent

Barcelona have completed the signing of one of Spain’s most sought-after young midfielders, securing the arrival of 15-year-old Víctor Barbany from Leganes.

Although the agreement had been in place for several months, the midfielder officially signed his contract this week in the presence of his family and representatives.

The youngster confirmed the signing with a post on social media.

One of Spain’s brightest Young Talents
Born on March 7, 2011, Barbany is a Spain Under-15 international who has quickly established himself as one of the country’s standout prospects.

Before joining Leganes, he spent time in Atletico Madrid’s academy, where he began attracting attention for his technical quality and maturity in midfield.

His performances have led to interest from many of Spain’s biggest clubs, with Barcelona ultimately winning the race for his signature.

A defining season
Barbany’s path has not been completely straightforward. In the summer of 2025, he agreed to join Valencia, but after struggling to settle, he returned to Leganes before making a competitive appearance.

Back at his former club, he enjoyed an outstanding campaign, helping Leganes win the Cadet League title while also becoming Spanish Under-16 champion with the Madrid regional team.

His impressive form also earned him five call-ups to Spain’s Under-15 national team.

The midfielder is expected to join Barcelona’s Cadete A squad next season, although the club will closely monitor his development and does not rule out the possibility of him progressing to the Juvenil B or even Juvenil A teams sooner if his performances warrant it.
