Why PSG Aim to Edge Barcelona for Napoli Standout Who Wants €5M Annual Wage
Paris Saint-Germain are gearing up to fill the gap left behind with Kylian Mbappé’s departure in the upcoming weeks. The Frenchman is headed to Real Madrid, and already, they’re looking to secure a replacement.
The Ligue 1 side are one of the clubs keen on Napoli standout Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for a potential summer move. Kvaratskhelia, who is also linked to FC Barcelona, has appeared in 44 matches across all competitions, scoring 11 goals and registering nine assists.
A recent report from Gazzetta dello Sport revealed that the player would seek a salary increase of €5 million per season beyond 2027. Le Parisien reports that Kvaratskhelia is at the top of PSG’s list to strengthen the attack.
PSG wants a right-footed left-winger this summer. The club believes it has enough left-footed wingers (Marco Asensio, Ousmane Dembélé, Kang-in Lee) but only has Bradley Barcola as a pure right-footed left-winger.
In March, Kvaratskhelia’s representatives noted that at the end of May, the player’s future would be resolved, especially now that Georgia is participating in UEFA Euro 2024 this summer.
“I can’t talk about a precise amount; these are De Laurentiis’ evaluations,” the agent told Gazzetta Dello Sport. “I protect Khvicha’s contract and work. Everything will be clear at the end of May.”
