WEST HAM NOW CONSIDER MOVE FOR PROLIFIC ARSENAL STRIKER TARGET
West Ham United are considering a move for Metz striker Georges Mikautadze amid links with a move to Arsenal.
Georges Mikautadze is the latest attacking target for West Ham United following Gianluca Scamacca’s departure.
That is according to the Daily Mail, who claim that West Ham have considered a move to bring Mikautadze to East London.
The Hammers are in the market for attacking additions and have been looking at the likes fo Jeremy Doku and Mohammed Kudus.
Signing those two players is proving to be very difficult though and West Ham could now look for another striker alongside the winger targets.
Mikautade is the latest name in the mix with David Moyes seeking more attacking support in the final third.
Michail Antonio scored against Chelsea on Sunday whilst West Ham still have Danny Ings and Divin Mubama too.
Moyes may believe that Mikautadze can offer another goalscoring threat, possibly paving the way for Mubama to go out on loan.
Who is West Ham United target Georges Mikautadze?
Mikautadze was born in Lyon but represents Georgia on the international stage.
The 22-year-old started out in the Lyon ranks before moving on to Saint-Priest and then Metz.
Mikautadze spent two seasons out on loan in Belgium, smashing 36 goals in 57 games for FC Seraing to catapult himself into Metz first-team action.
Mikautadze took that goalscoring form into last season too, racking up 24 gaols in 40 outings for Metz.
That has put Mikautadze on the wish list of many clubs – especially in the Premier League.
Burnley have been very interested, as have Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Gazzetta dello Sport even suggested in June that Arsenal have been looking at Mikautadze as a potential signing.
Mikautadze’s style of play has been compared to that of Sergio Aguero and West Ham may now hope to lure him to the Premier League in the hope that he can become a superstar just like Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
