West Ham make £60m double bid for Maguire and McTominay

West Ham United have made a £60 million double bid to sign Manchester United duo Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay this summer, according to The Athletic.
The Hammers recently reached an agreement to sign Ajax midfielder Edson Alvarez, and they are now focused on securing the services of Maguire and McTominay.
The Red Devils rejected an offer of £20m from the Hammers for Maguire last month, and it is reported that David Moyes’ side have now made an improved £30m bid.
A similar proposal has been placed on the table for McTominay. Maguire has shown the willingness to join the Hammers, but he may need to be handed a big pay-off.
The Europa League outfit are only willing to hand him £100,000-a-week compared to his current £190,000 weekly salary. United will need to compensate for his departure.
Maguire is more likely to leave Man Utd
Maguire has been a fringe player over the last 12 months under manager Erik ten Hag, and the club are currently considering Jean-Clair Todibo as his potential successor.
Todibo could be prised away from Nice for around £39m. United could be tempted to cash in on their former captain such that they can land the French centre-back.
McTominay was also a regular on the bench from October last year, but he is more valuable than Maguire for United. The Scotland international is in the prime of his career.
The club currently value him in the region of £40-45m and they could hold out for a similar fee to part ways with the 26-year-old. Sofyan Amrabat could be his replacement.
In our view, Maguire is more likely to head for the exit door in the coming days. In case of McTominay, United are bound to hold out for a higher fee to consider his exit.
