West Ham close to signing Paris defender Correll 

West Ham United announced that Paris Saint-Germain reached an agreement to sign defender Corell. The German defender has travelled to London to undergo a medical for the Hammers and complete his signing. Corell also attracted the attention of Sevilla in La Liga before, but he eventually chose to join West Ham.

Corell joined Paris Saint-Germain from Schalke in the summer of 2018. His contract with Paris expires next year, with less than a year left. Paris Saint-Germain has decided to send the German defender away this summer in order to avoid a loss of money and manpower tomorrow. If Corell can complete the transfer in time, he is expected to play in the first leg of the Europa League play-off between West Ham and the Danish team Viborg in the early hours of Friday. The total value of the transaction amounts to 15 million euros. The addition of Corell solves Moyes’ pressing needs.

The Hammers’ defense has suffered a serious wave of injuries recently. The new aid Agold underwent ankle surgery, and the specific return time is yet to be determined. Dawson was unable to play with a hamstring strain. Obonna suffered a severe knee ligament tear last season, and he has yet to fully recover from the injury. Another defender of the Hammers last season, Diop, has left the team and joined Fulham.
