Vincent Kompany backs Bayern Munich’s Jonas Urbig to deliver

After being eliminated from the Champions League, Bayern Munich must maintain focus on its Bundesliga hopes.
A big key to that ambition is Jonas Urbig, who needs to hold down the fort until Manuel Neuer is deemed ready to go. Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany thinks the young goalkeeper is up to the task.
“That’s one of the positive stories we have to take with us. Despite the injuries, we have 100% confidence that we can make it with Jonas Urbig and the other guys. What Jonas and the guys have shown so far is that they can deliver the performances that will bring us the results. Jonas is very young. The pressure is not on his shoulders. The pressure is always on the experienced players. We’re taking Jonas’ energy and talent with us. But the pressure is on the others – and on the coach,” Kompany said.
Neuer will return soon enough, but until that happens, Bayern Munich is in good hands with Urbig.
