Saudi Arabian giants preparing massive bid for Barcelona teenage prodigy

July 20, 2024

Saudi Arabian team Al-Hilal are preparing to make a significant offer for Barcelona’s young forward Vitor Roque.

It is no secret that Roque is expected to leave Barça this summer as the club has made it clear he will not get any playing time.

At present, Barcelona are open to selling him if a substantial offer comes in that could bring in a profit. While a transfer within Europe seems impossible, Barça are aware of Al Hilal’s interest in the player and is waiting for any concrete moves.

If an astronomical offer is made, they will do everything in their power to secure the deal.

Roque has failed to impress Barcelona
The Brazilian striker is already coming to terms with the fact that his time at the club is coming to an end. He was a promising bet by the sporting department, and his signing was accelerated to help him adapt to European football.

However, his adaptation has not gone as planned. At just 19 years old, Barça initially wanted to loan him out so he could gain valuable playing time. However, the rising interest from Saudi football could change the current scenario.

Not only would the club recover the money they invested in him, but they could also gain some unexpected income from his transfer.

Barcelona waiting for an offer
At the moment, both Barça and Roque’s representatives are waiting for Al Hilal to make a formal move.

The Saudi club, through intermediaries, has already made contact with the Blaugrana club and Barça’s stance is clear: they are open to a permanent sale if it benefits all parties financially.

So far, Barcelona have only received loan requests from European clubs. In Spain, several teams have shown interest, while Porto has stopped negotiations because they wanted a mandatory purchase option for Roque at a price that did not interest Barça.

The most interested club at the moment are Lazio. The Italian club has already requested a loan with an option to buy, but Barça are holding out to see what happens with the Saudi offer.

It seems likely that Roque will join the team’s tour in the United States, after which a final decision will be made.

For now, Barcelona are not hiding the fact that selling Roque for a good price would significantly aid their sporting plans for the season.
