Rozzano Mayor Weighs In On Inter Milan New Stadium Project: “Purchasing The Land Would Be A Major Sign”
The mayor of Rozzano Giovanni Ferretti hopes that Inter Milan purchase the land in due time, which would effectively kickstart the new stadium project.
With the new San Siro project collapsing due to bureaucratic hurdles, AC Milan and Inter Milan have parted ways, with each club now looking to build its own ground in different locations outside the city walls.
The Rossoneri have identified the San Donato region as their new home.
As for the Nerazzurri, they have been planning on building their stadium in Rozzano. This will be much to the delight of the region’s mayor.
Ferretti is eager to host the new Inter stadium. However, he believes that the club will have to showcase their desire to go forward by buying the land.
The club had obtained the exclusive right to build a new ground in Rozzano from the company that owns the land.

However, they must exercise the option to purchase the land before the end of April 2024.
“The first strong signal we are waiting for is the purchase or the extension on the exclusive right to purchase the land,” said the Rozzano mayor in his interview with Il Giornale via FcInterNews.
“If they don’t let it expire, it will be an excellent signal. Moreover, If they present the study, I’d say it’s a done deal.
“I’ve been in favor of a stadium at Rozzano all my life. I reiterate to the no committee that it wouldn’t remain a green area anyway.”
