Real Madrid youngster faces Brazilian fans’ mockery for admiring England legend

What began as a straightforward comment from Endrick has unexpectedly evolved into a fun and endearing nickname among his peers. 

Initially, Endrick expressed his admiration for Bobby Charlton, the legendary Manchester United striker who made his mark in the 1960s. 

Despite Charlton’s footballing era being long before Endrick’s time, the young Brazilian spoke highly of him, highlighting him as one of his favourite players.

This simple admiration has taken on a life of its own, leading to Endrick being affectionately nicknamed “Bobby” by his Real Madrid teammates. 

The trend has even reached Brazilian fans, who embraced this playful nickname during the recent match between Brazil and Ecuador. 

During the game, which took place early in the morning in Curitiba as part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, the fans chanted, “You are Bobby Charlton, you are Bobby Charlton,” in support of Endrick.
