Real Madrid Will Take Aggressive Stance with Mbappé Transfer In January
The Kylian Mbappé-Real Madrid transfer saga took a break for a couple of weeks after the summer transfer window closed on Sept. 1. However, after the 3-1 loss to Real Madrid on Sunday, the saga seems to have revived.
Mbappé will be a free agent next summer transfer window as he’s currently playing on an expiring contract. As a result, the Spanish giants are looking to secure the Frenchman during the January transfer window.
According to Defensa Central, one of the top priorities for Los Blancos is to secure the 24-year-old to a pre-contract and end this saga so it doesn’t linger any further.
Nonetheless, it will be interesting to see whether Real Madrid can convince the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner to sign a pre-contract. The last time the Paris Saint-Germain star was in this similar position, he opted to wait.
If the Ligue 1 side punches their ticket to the knockout stage, it’s more than likely that Mbappé delays any decision on his future to avoid it being a distraction. Still, the La Liga side might threaten that this is the last opportunity to join them, and he must sign a pre-contract.
The next couple of months leading into 2024 will be interesting to follow.
