Real Madrid in talks with AC Milan over loan deal for unhappy 19-year-old prodigy

March 4, 2024

Arda Guler’s future at Real Madrid is undecided, to say the least, and if a report from SPORT is to be believed, the team from the Spanish capital might offload him to Italy on loan in the summer.

The 19-year-old was signed from Fenerbahce last summer for a fee quoted to be around €20 million. The youngster’s tenure was hampered by constant injury challenges and this season alone, he has missed 16 matches through fitness.

As a result, the 19-year-old attacking midfielder is unhappy and getting fed up with the situation, meaning that a possible loan deal over the summer could be on the cards.

So what is Real Madrid’s plan?

It goes without saying that Real Madrid are confronted with the challenge of resolving the issue, as the Turkish player and his associates feel disillusioned by the club’s unfulfilled promises.

Assurances of a first-team and a prominent role have not materialized, causing discontent within the youngster. In fact, the problem has escalated to a national concern in Turkey, where the player is highly regarded.

In an effort to overcome the tension, Real Madrid are reportedly contemplating a loan arrangement for Guler in the upcoming season, with AC Milan emerging as a potential destination, following a strategy akin to the successful loan deal with Brahim Diaz.

Talks have already begun

Reports in Italy are affirming that discussions between the two clubs regarding a prospective loan for the next season are underway, subject to the player’s approval on the move.

In all fairness, Milan appear to be a viable exit route, although other offers may be on the table for Guler as well.

Guler, eager for substantial playing time this season in preparation for the UEFA Euro, is now facing disappointment.

Aware of the intensity surrounding the issue, Real Madrid recognize the need to delicately handle the situation to avoid a potential crack between the player and the team.
