Real Betis star Nabil Fekir suffers serious injury blow ahead of Manchester United games

Real Betis playmaker Nabil Fekir has been ruled out of the two Europa League matches against Manchester United.
The Spanish side announced the injury news with Fekir suffering a torn ACL.
The statement read: “The tests he has undergone by the Real Betis Balompié medical services have confirmed that he has an anterior cruciate ligament injury in said knee.
“The player will have to undergo surgery in the next few days to resolve this injury, the prognosis of which implies that he will miss the remainder of the season.”

Fekir, 29, had made 19 appearances for Real Betis so far this season, with 16 starts.
He had scored five goals and provided two assists, and was one of Betis’ key players. He scored at the Nou Camp earlier this year as they drew 2-2 with Barcelona.
The Frenchman had played all 90 minutes against Elche at the weekend, prior to his injury being announced on Monday evening.
Manchester United host Real Betis as soon as next week in the Europa League last 16, before playing the second leg in Spain a week later.
Betis star William Carvalho reached out to Bruno Fernandes after the Carabao Cup final, warning him: “Now rest little brother, see you next Thursday!”
Manchester United can’t afford to rest, however, with a FA Cup game against West Ham this week and then an away trip to Liverpool this weekend.
There is then a home game against Southampton between the Betis games, with an away trip to Brighton after that.
Betis are in fifth place in La Liga, two points back from the Champions League places.
