Rangers set for new windfall as Malik Tillman transfer news emerges

July 17, 2023

Rangers are now on course to receive compensation and a potential sell-on clause should Malik Tillman complete a move from Bayern Munich this summer, according to the Daily Record.

According to the Record newspaper (17 July, page 47), German giants Stuttgart are poised to land the 2022/23 on-loan Rangers star despite boss Michael Beale’s hope of securing his services on a permanent deal this summer.

Bayern Munich have reportedly repurchased that loan clause and written up a new one which could see the Gers receive a potential windfall should Tillman secure a £6m move to Bundesliga side Stuttgart.

Bayern Munich have reportedly repurchased that loan clause and written up a new one which could see the Gers receive a potential windfall should Tillman secure a £6m move to Bundesliga side Stuttgart.

Trilling 2022/23 campaign at Ibrox, where he registered an impressive 17 goal contributions in 43 appearances.

And the £5.8m it would have cost to secure his permanent services would have been deemed a bargain move, but it seems that possibility has been blown out the water following Bayern’s contractual actions.

Beale won’t mind though as he’s already bolstered his attacking and creative ranks, following Tillman’s departure, securing the services of Abdallah Sima, Sam Lammers and Kieran Dowell who will inject much-needed enthusiasm and influence in the Rangers system this season.

Credit must be handed to the Gers for ensuring they get the best out of any Tillman move, and while it will be sad to see him join another club, Rangers can rest assured knowing they are set to receive a healthy compensation package to potentially help towards another transfer.

Great deal all around for the club.
