PSG’s Rising Star Remains in Luis Enrique’s Plans, Barcelona Faces Transfer Setback

Over the last few days, a report revealed that FC Barcelona are working on signing Xavi Simons on loan and that the player is crazy about returning. While there’s a connection to the Catalan side, the report is hard to believe.

Nonetheless, new information reveals that this desire to land the 21-year-old is wishful thinking. One recent report revealed that the Dutchman is valued at approximately €80 million, which is a high price that the Blaugrana club are not currently prepared to pay. 

Moreover, the Parisians have no desire to sell the player. French journalist Sébastien Vidal reports that despite interest from several clubs, manager Luis Enrique is counting on him for the upcoming season. As a result, there’s no new loan in sight.

Barcelona are keen on signing the player, and manager Xavi Hernandez is also a fan and wants the club to secure him. However, it seems the rising star is leaning towards returning to PSG, especially since he’s probably seen as a crucial figure in the post-Kylian Mbappé era.
