Recently, Paris Saint-Germain was mentioned among the clubs interested in Franco Mastantuono. However, with numerous European clubs eyeing the Argentine wonderkid, River Plate have signed the teenager to a new contract.
Other clubs competing with PSG for the 16-year-old include FC Barcelona and Real Madrid. According to a recent report from TNT Sports Argentina, Real Madrid seems quite interested in Mastantuono and may consider making an offer to sign him once he turns 18.
Transfer specialist César Luis Merlo shared the photo of the contract extension becoming official. As a result, the player is now tied to River Plate until 2026, and the teenager now has a termination clause of €45 million and rises to €50 million before the closing of the transfer market.
If Real Madrid manages to secure the deal, their plan is to further Mastantuono’s development at River Plate until 2025, starting negotiations in mid-2025.
At the same time, Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund, Benfica, and Inter are also in contention. The competition to secure Mastantuono’s signature will be fierce, and it’ll be intriguing to see if PSG can emerge as the victor.
