PSG set to open talks to sign 18-year-old Real Madrid target this week

January 22, 2024

In what could be construed as a transfer blow for Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain are set to open talks with Lille OSC this week for the signing of teenage defender Leny Yoro.

The 18-year-old is enjoying a fine breakthrough campaign in France and has managed to grab the attention of top clubs across Europe, including Real Madrid.

The Merengues are looking for a young centre-back for the summer who can grow into a mainstay in the future and have identified Yoro as a target after having scouted him thoroughly on a number of occasions.

PSG ready to open talks
However, according to Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato, PSG are set to open talks with Lille this week to try and reach an agreement for Leny Yoro.

As was reported last week, the Parisian giants are eager to sign the teenage centre-back in the ongoing transfer window itself rather than waiting until the summer.

PSG sporting director Luis Campos is pushing hard for the deal and the idea is for them to meet with Lille this week to try and reach a common ground, as the latter are unwilling to let the youngster part ways this month.

PSG are eager to have Yoro as part of their squad this month and seem prepared to go the extra mile to get the deal done.

This development would come as a big blow for Real Madrid, who have been monitoring Yoro for a while now, but were planning to wait until the summer to launch a move.

If Yoro slips out of their grasp, the Merengues have other targets lined up like Goncalo Inacio and Antonio Silva.
