PSG Newcomer Poised to Attain Superstar Status, Echoing Real Madrid Sensation
Paris Saint-Germain defender Lucas Beraldo has hit the ground running since joining the Parisians during the January transfer window. The 20-year-old defender also earned a call-up to the Brazil national team and could be on a rocket ship to stardom.
The Seleção is undergoing changes with more younger players being incorporated en route to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. One of the players that the team could count on is the PSG defender. Furthermore, he has the possibility to be one of the faces on defense.
In an interview with RMC Sport (h/t Le10Sport), journalist Eduardo Deconto believes that Lucas Beraldo must still assert himself in order to become a real star in Brazil, like Neymar Jr. and Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior.
“He is on his way to becoming famous in Brazil,” Deconto said about the PSG defender. “Football enthusiasts know who he is, what kind of player he is, but with 215 million inhabitants, he still needs to prove himself to become a star like Vinicius or Neymar. However, he has the abilities to achieve it.”
Beraldo can continue to raise his profile in the PSG-Barcelona UEFA Champions League quarterfinal tie. If he performs well, then the young Brazilian has the potential to become a recognizable name despite only being a few months into his European football career.
