PSG Club Chief Gives Cryptic Message Over Kylian Mbappé Amid Real Madrid Arrival
Paris Saint-Germain advanced to the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals after defeating Real Sociedad 4-1 on aggregate on Tuesday night at Reale Arena.
Kylian Mbappé was the star of the second leg 2-1 win as the 25-year-old scored a brace to push the Parisians into the next round. Despite the accomplishment, many want to talk about the winger’s future.
PSG club president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi spoke to Canal+ to offer some postgame remarks. Nonetheless, there was a question regarding Mbappé’s future, and he offered a cryptic response to the French media outlet.
“If the club hasn’t communicated, it’s because it had no intention to,” Al-Khelaïfi said regarding whether the PSG star will leave this summer (h/t Paris Fans). “Today, he is with us, involved. But for sure, we are also building the future.”
Over the past two weeks, the capital club has dealt with drama over manager Luis Enrique pulling Mbappé in the second half. Nonetheless, the Frenchman played the entire 90 minutes in the Champions League contest.
It will be interesting to see if this is the end of the drama. The squad needs to remain focus to punch their ticket to the semifinals, regardless of who they face.
