Pep Guardiola has made his Tottenham Premier League title feelings clear with Manchester City and Arsenal facing a new challenger

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed why he thinks Tottenham are in this season’s Premier League title race. Spurs currently sit top of the table following after beating Crystal Palace which opened up a five-point gap between themselves and their rivals, although Arsenal securing three points against Sheffield United has seen the deficit reduced to two.

Guardiola’s reigning champions, by their own standards, have endured a mixed start to the season with defeats to Wolves and Arsenal coming before the October international break. Ahead of a Manchester derby, they sit third on 21 points, although Liverpool and Aston Villa can go above them as they are in action before Man City on Sunday, against Nottingham Forest and Luton Town, respectively.

Last season it was a straight shoot-out between Arsenal and Manchester City, but now Spurs and Liverpool look as though they are capable of competing for the title come May 2024. While Ange Postecoglou and his players have been expectedly coy on being in the title race, he is insisted supporters must enjoy the ride and dream of what could happen.

“Let them dream,” he told Sky Sports after the win over Crystal Palace when asked what his message to the supporters was. “It’s what being a football fan is all about.
