Oleksandr Zinchenko agrees contract with Arsenal

July 19, 2022

Oleksandr Zinchenko has agreed a four-year contract with Arsenal ahead of his prospective move to north London, 90min understands.

The Gunners are looking to improve their midfield options and Zinchenko wants to play in his more natural position, having largely featured as a left back at the Etihad.

Terms over his contract at the Emirates are agreed in principle as the two sides continue to move towards the conclusion of the deal. The transfer is set to be worth in excess of £30m with further add-ons.

Arsenal have batted off a number of other sides to move into pole position for Zinchenko, with the likes of Juventus, Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund. Further movement on the deal came after Manchester United signed Lisandro Martinez, who was a target for Mikel Arteta.

Zinchenko joins Gabriel Jesus in swapping Manchester City for Arsenal this summer, with the Brazilian taking to life with the Gunners in fine style.

With the Ukrainian departing, Guardiola and City will move to find a replacement, with Brighton star Marc Cucurella at the top of their list.

The Spaniard impressed during his debut season in the Premier League and 90min reported last week that he was their first choice to reinforce the left side of defence.

However, City are reluctant to pay any more than £50m, which is the minimum Brighton want as the Seagulls look to get him signed to a new contract.
