Nottingham Forest in talks to sign Bayern Munich’s Omar Richards in permanent deal

Nottingham Forest are in talks to sign Omar Richards from Bayern Munich on a permanent basis.

Richards only arrived in Bavaria last summer, signing for Bayern following an impressive season with Reading in the Championship.

However, he struggled to break into the first team at the Allianz Arena last campaign, making just 17 appearances in all competitions en route to a Bundesliga winners’ medal.

Understands that Richards would already be open to a return to England and Forest are in talks to make this happen. The England Under-21 international would be available for around £10m and negotiations are already underway.

Forest have had an active transfer window and show little signs of slowing down. The Trees have already brought in Taiwo Awoniyi for a club-record fee and have also signed Moussa Niakhate, Giulian Biancone and Dean Henderson.

Understands that Neco Williams is another target, with Forest confident of beating Fulham to the Welshman’s signature this summer.

Their plan for strengthening in defence does not stop there either. Sources have indicated that Forest are also interested in Huddersfield Town left-back Harry Toffolo.
