Napoli At Risk of Losing Star Midfielder This Summer
It will be a turbulent summer at Napoli. Yet to name Francesco Calzona’s successor, the Serie A strugglers are facing significant personnel problems. As per TMW, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa could part ways with the Partenopei in the coming months.
Antonio Conte hasn’t set foot at the Diego Maradona Stadium yet, and he’s already scratching his head. Victor Osimhen’s departure looks imminent, while Khivcha Kvaratskhelia’s future at Napoli hangs by a thread after Paris Saint-Germain identified him as Kylian Mbappe’s heir.
On top of that, there’s a veil of mystery surrounding Giovanni Di Lorenzo. Despite being confirmed as a vital part of the project, the Napoli captain could still leave the club in the coming months. Juventus and Inter are lurking in the shadows, waiting for a chance to strike.
As if that’s not tormenting enough, Zambo Anguissa is the latest Napoli star linked with a summer exit. His contract runs out in 2025, so he’s well-positioned to force his way out of Naples. Since his form dwindled in 2023/24, the club may not stand in his way.
However, Aurelio De Laurentiis is reluctant to sell him to Juventus. It shouldn’t impede the Cameroon international’s farewell. Saudi Pro League heavyweights Al-Nassr are keen to offer him an escape route from Napoli. And they have the means to quench De Laurentiis’ thirst for money.
Napoli signed Zambo Anguissa from Fulham in 2021. After an impressive loan spell, they forked out €17.3 million to secure his services permanently. Despite the midfielder’s disappointing campaign, they could still make a profit if they opt for a sale this summer.
