Milan flight to Florence interrupted on eve of Fiorentina match
The Milan squad took a longer journey than planned to Flornece ahead of their Serie A match against Fiorentina on Saturday evening, as the aircraft they were travelling on was sent back to the airport before setting off again.
The Rossoneri squad set off from Milan Malpensa in the early evening on Friday, but they were forced to return to the runway a few minutes into their flight.
According to updates from TMW, arrangements were made so that the Milan players and coaching staff were able to board another flight. They have since arrived in Tuscany, considerably behind schedule.
It is estimated that the total flight time from Milan to Florence should last somewhere around 50 minutes, although it took Milan around three hours to make the journey on Friday night.
Milan have taken a relatively full quad with them to Florence, but will have to do without the suspended Theo Hernandez as well as injured trio Simon Kjaer, Pierre Kalulu and Tommaso Pobega against Fiorentina.
Three teenagers, Jan-Carlo Simic, Davide Bartesaghi and Kevin Zeroli have made the trip with the senior squad.
Kick-off between Fiorentina and Milan is scheduled for 19.45 on Saturday.
