Milan could sign replacement from Serie A if forced to sell Leao
AC Milan could sign a replacement domestically if they are forced to sell Rafael Leao in the coming months, according to a report.
According to Il Messaggero (via MilanLive) – the well-known Roman newspaper – Paolo Maldini has a strong interest in Nicolò Zaniolo. His contract with Roma expires in June 2024 and to date there is no sign of renewal, so the Rossoneri technical director continues to follow the situation closely.
Roma’s demands have previously ended any chances of a move prematurely, but everything could change if Milan were forced to sell Leao should he not extend his contract before next summer.
Milan would be forced to cash in on the winger and could then divert the funds they receive towards another forward, such as Zaniolo. A lot depends on whether he will renew with Roma or not in the next few months, while Juventus are also keen.
