Milan Ace Receives Death Threats After Lazio Game

March 3, 2024

Milan forward Christian Pulisic reportedly received death threats after playing a pivotal role in Rossoneri’s 1-0 win at Lazio on Friday. According to ABC News, the United States captain fell victim to malicious messages from the Biancocelesti faithful on social media after the game.

Noah Okafor’s late winner settled an ill-tempered affair at the Stadio Olimpico as Milan ended a three-game winless run in all competitions with a dramatic victory. However, Pulisic was the man under the spotlight. He drew several fouls from Lazio left-back Luca Pellegrini, making the Italian defender receive his marching orders just before the hour mark.

As if that wasn’t frustrating enough for Lazio fans, the ex-Chelsea winger forced another expulsion in second-half stoppages. He made a tactical foul on Matteo Guendouzi to stop the counter, provoking a furious reaction from the Frenchman, which earned him a straight red, leaving Milan with three men up.

Indeed, referee Marco Di Bello sent off Adam Marusic minutes earlier as Lazio finished the game with eight players. After the win, Pulisic took to Instagram to commemorate a hard-earned three points, posting a picture of himself and his Milan teammates celebrating the victory. Little did he know the reaction he would trigger.

Faced with a deluge of death threats, Pulisic needed someone to step up and come to his aid. Who else but stand-in captain Theo Hernandez to show much-need support for his troubled colleague? “Puliiiii, I am your security,” the French star wrote.
