Marco Verratti Transfer Update: Al-Hilal Urged to Raise Offer to Convince PSG

July 28, 2023

Al-Hilal’s pursuit of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti has hit a roadblock. The Saudi Arabian side is reportedly agreed to personal terms with Verratti on a three-year contract. However, the hurdle is finding a transfer fee.

Le Parisien reports that the Saudi Arabian club hesitates to raise their bid for the Italian maestro, potentially jeopardizing their chances of securing his services. PSG’s asking price for Verratti remains firm, with the window nearly closing. The Ligue 1 side has no intention of accepting the €30 million offer from Al-Hilal.

As a result, the transfer saga leaves Al-Hilal with the challenging task of revising their offer upwards to convince the French giants to part ways with their prized midfielder.

Al Hilal’s interest in Verratti comes as no surprise, given the Italian’s exceptional abilities in midfield. His vast experience at the top level of football makes him an attractive prospect for any club seeking to strengthen their squads.

Nonetheless, PSG manager Luis Enrique is a vocal advocate of retaining Verratti. The Spanish boss likely sees his importance both on and off the pitch. Verratti’s influence on PSG’s style of play cannot be understated. So it’s no surprise the Spanish boss doesn’t want to part ways.
