Man City to make £45m profit after ‘knockout’ deal agreed – Stefan Borson
Manchester City will make around £45million of profit on the big-money sale of forward Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid.
That is the view of former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson, who exclusively told Football Insider it’s a “knockout” deal for the Premier League champions after sanctioning the Argentina international’s exit.
Atletico agreed an £81.5million deal for Alvarez on 6 August, with the fee made up of an initial £64.4million payment and up to £17.1million in potential add-ons.
The 24-year-old is expected to fly to Madrid on Sunday and complete his medical with the La Liga giants on Monday.
Alvarez has scored 36 goals and laid on 18 assists in 103 appearances for Man City since making the £14million move from River Plate in January 2022.
