Luis Enrique Frustrated: Kylian Mbappé’s Real Madrid Decision Timing Riles Coach
Kylian Mbappé will reportedly leave Paris Saint-Germain when his contract with the capital club expires in June. The elephant in the room is that the Frenchman will join Real Madrid as a free agent.
Mbappé can agree to a pre-contract with any club, with his contract expiring in a few months. However, L’Equipe’s Loïc Tanzi reports that manager Luis Enrique did express an issue with the timing of this announcement.
The French media outlet notes that Enrique did not appreciate Mbappé announcing his departure in the middle of PSG’s most important challenges of the season. Both men talked when Mbappé announced his decision last week.
PSG holds a 2-0 lead in their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie against Real Sociedad. Additionally, the squad has a commanding lead in Ligue 1 and are still alive in the Coupe de France.
The Parisians will head to Spain next week for the second leg against Real Sociedad, and it’s likely a good amount of questions will surround Mbappé and his reported decision to join Real Madrid.
Should PSG progress, anticipate the ongoing spectacle, particularly if they face Real Madrid in the quarterfinals.
