Liverpool working on Arthur loan deal
Liverpool are are in talks with Juventus over a loan deal for Brazilian midfielder Arthur, sources have confirmed to 90min.
Juventus have been looking to move Arthur on for most of the summer and he was close to finalising a switch to Sporting C. But now Liverpool have hijacked the move and are now hoping to secure his signature on transfer deadline day.
After missing out on the signing of Aurelien Tchouameni earlier in the summer, Liverpool had appeared certain not to go through with any additional reinforcements – but injuries and poor form in recent weeks have seen a reversal from Jurgen Klopp.
90min revealed last week that Klopp was indeed looking at options and the German coach then confirmed they were indeed scouring the market again.
Konrad Laimer and Ruben Neves were among the options. But such an outlay at this stage was not seen as the right course of action – instead they have gone for a loan move, settling on Arthur.
Arthur is now due on Merseyside for his medical whilst the two clubs hammer out terms of the deal, which is set to include an option to buy should he impress during his time at Anfield.
