Liverpool starboy ‘set to traumatise farmers in Europa’ after Leicester thrashed

Liverpool fans were calling for starlet Ben Doak to be given more first-team minutes next season after he scored his first senior goal in a 4-0 thrashing of Leicester
Liverpool starlet Ben Doak has been tipped to “traumatise farmers in the Europa League” after he netted in their pre-season friendly against Leicester.
The highly-rated 17-year-old, who made his debut for Jurgen Klopp’s side last season, got off the mark with his first senior goal after coming on as a substitute today (July 30).
He nodded home after Joel Matip had flicked on Dominik Szoboszlai’s corner to put the Reds 4-0 up following first-half strikes from Darwin Nunez, Bobby Clark and Diogo Jota.
Fans took to social media to rave about his performance, with one joking: “Ben Doak is going to inflict some level of trauma on those farmers and plumbers he’ll be rinsing in the Europa League.”
A second argued: “One good thing about being in the Europa next season is it means we can give starts to Ben Doak consistently. Should be getting game time. What a talent.”
“Doak needs minutes in the Europa League he’s a special talent,” echoed a third, while a fourth added: “Ben Doak will have fun in Europa League for sure.”
A fifth wrote: “No doubt Doak will play a lot of Europa games this season. Such an exciting rapid prospect.” And sixth posted: “Gonna be a demon of a player in a few years.”
Right winger Doak scored 11 goals for Liverpool’s youth sides last season after arriving from Celtic this time last year. Klopp afforded him two Premier League appearances off the bench as a result.
Speaking about him in May, the German boss said: “Ben Doak, obviously nice signs, he’s with us in training again. Special boy, really confident.
“[He] has something nobody else delivers really, this kind of dribbling, this kind of straight-forward bravery, all these kind of things. Technically really good, high speed, super-promising but very young.”
