Liverpool slap £20m price tag on midfielder as Paul Scholes makes X-rated suggestion

June 24, 2024

Arne Slot will no doubt be looking to put his twist on the Liverpool team this summer. The Reds continue to be linked with some big names, like Riccardo Calafiori and Jeremie Frimpong, but it remains to be seen what business new sporting director Richard Hughes will do.

Last summer, Liverpool forked out almost £200m on four new midfielders. With Jurgen Klopp eager to beef up the middle of the park, he signed Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch and Wataru Endo. But, with Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita and James Milner going the other way, in addition to Thiago Alcantara this summer, could the Reds be looking for another addition in that area of the pitch? Or is a new defender or wide player more of a priority?

So, with that being said, we have rounded up all the biggest stories on the morning of Monday, June 24 and had our say on them.

Bundesliga giants target Liverpool youngster
RB Leipzig are one of several teams interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton this summer.

The report states that the 21-year-old has attracted attention from Sevilla, Feyenoord and Eintracht Frankfurt, as well as a few Premier League clubs. The Times adds that “virtually every club” in the Championship would also like to sign Morton on loan following two impressive campaigns in the division.

Despite interest in the England Under-21 international, Morton is expected to report for pre-season training at the beginning of next month. It’s said that the youngster has been given a £20m price tag though after only signing a new term contract just 18 months ago.
