Football fans have joked Lionel Messi ‘only scores good goals’ after he bagged a brace of stunning volleys for new side Inter Miami in the early hours of Thursday morning

Lionel Messi is enjoying his start to life stateside – and he’s found himself on the scoresheet again for Inter Miami.

Messi was handed a starting spot for Inter’s cup clash with Orlando City – and he wasted no time kicking into gear. Within seven minutes, drifting into the box, Messi took down a ball on his chest and lashed it past the stranded keeper.

The wonderful strike was reminiscent of his Barcelona days, and it led football fans to declare Messi ‘only scores good goals’. Messi netted his second volley of the game in the second half, helping Inter to a 3-1 win over the Florida-based side.

“Lionel Messi only scores good goals,” one fan tweeted. While a second added: “The man is making the people around him play better!”
