Leon Goretzka discusses Bayern Munich’s thrilling 4-2 win against Flamengo

Bayern Munich treated fans as they came away with a 4-2 victory against Brazilian side Flamengo courtesy of goals from Harry Kane and an unbelievable strike from Leon Goretzka right before the second half.
Speaking post-game, Goretzka said, “It was a very intense game. Both teams wanted to press high and play man against man. In these temperatures, it’s tough. But it was fun to fight like that, and we’re happy to have advanced to the next round. We knew it would be a very physical game. Flamengo also like to play out from the back, and they do that well. But that always gives you the chance to win the ball high up the pitch. We did that well and scored goals. The atmosphere in the stadium was great again, and it was important that we stay calm and keep the ball. We could have done even better at some points.”
Goretzka also highlighted the difficulty that lies ahead as Bayern are set to face PSG in the quarter-finals: “Now we’ll face the reigning Champions League winners. It’s sure to be a tough game again. We’ve already played against them once and won this season, and we are looking forward to the game.”
