Leeds United could repeat Crysencio Summerville transfer trick by signing £5m-rated winger
Leeds United may look to strengthen their attacking options in January
Carlton Palmer has called on Leeds United to make a January move for Bazoumana Toure to boost their chances of winning promotion back to the Premier League.
A TBR Football report states the Whites are among a number of clubs keeping tabs on the Hammarby youngster. Newcastle United, Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham, Crystal Palace, Brighton, Wolves, Sheffield United and Celtic are also said to be admirers of the 18-year-old.
Toure, a left winger by trade, is reportedly valued at around the £5m mark. Both Arsenal and Manchester United are said to have previously tracked him.
Toure’s manager Kim Hellberg feels the player is destined to reach the top. His present deal with the Swedish club runs until the summer of 2028.
“I think he can play at the highest level possible. I don’t see why he shouldn’t have the chance to get there. There have been many players who have had the opportunity to get there but have not taken that route,” Hellberg said.
“He is unique in the way he learns things and picks things up. Now he scored two goals on his head… and we have worked so much on how he should get into the box and how he should position himself to create advantages linked to the fact that he is not a big player.”
here is a strong possibility United will be in the market for attacking reinforcements in the New Year. It is no secret the Whites missed out on signing a No 10 to replace Georginio Rutter in the summer window.
Ex-England international and Whites midfielder Palmer told Football League World: “Obviously you look at the way Summerville has risen, this could convince the Elland Road hierarchy that he could go on and do the same.
“The fee is going to be around £5 million, I don’t believe they’ll stand in his way if the right offer comes in. I think it could be a very, very good signing for Leeds.
