Leao talks about his injury, Mbappe to Milan and De Ketelaere in Q&A
Rafael Leao is running a race against time as he picked up a slight muscle injury in AC Milan’s 2-0 win against Lazio. And in just two days, the Rossoneri will be up against their city rivals Inter.
The Portuguese winger left the pitch just 11 minutes into the game and tests the following day revealed a slight muscle elongation. His presence on Wednesday is thus unlikely, but the final decision will be taken on the day.
In the meantime, Leao hosted a Q&A on the App The Residency, as collected by MilanEye. The winger was asked a series of questions from the fans, including the latest on his condition, Kylian Mbappe and Charles De Ketelaere.
On injury: “No worries I’ll be back soon. I’m an optimist. I did the treatment and slept all day.”
On Mbappe to Milan: “Mbappe should come to Milan haha. He’s an AC Milan fan already.”
On De Ketelaere: “Charles will be an important player for us in the present and in the future, great quality.”
On Chaka Traore: “Chaka Traore will be the future of Milan, I really like him.”
On his speed: “If I’m faster than Theo? Ahaha don’t know but he’s fast.”
By the sounds of it, Leao will definitely be back for the return leg against Inter, but risking him already on Wednesday might not be wise. Of course, it will depend on how the player feels come gameday.
