Kylian Mbappé Reveals Mindset PSG Requires in Must-Win Match vs. Dortmund
Kylian Mbappé and Paris Saint-Germain have avoided the UEFA Europa League for now. The capital club sits second in Group F but have yet to punch their ticket to the UEFA Champions League knockout stages.
PSG secured a late penalty kick goal that allowed them to have a 1-1 draw against Newcastle United. While the Ligue 1 side controls their destiny, they still have the daunting task of needing to win on the road against Borussia Dortmund.
Furthermore, winning away from the Parc des Princes is something the French giants haven’t done in this group stage. As a result, it will take an impressive performance to take all three points.
Although the match is a few days away, Mbappé is already setting the mindset that he and his teammates will need to have in Germany.
“There is no knife between the teeth,” Mbappé told Canal+ (h/t Paris Fans). “You have to play with personality. The idea was that we were there today, but we have to work in front of the goal. We can’t afford to have so many actions and not score. If we play like that and score, it will go well in Dortmund.
The Ligue 1 side had 82 percent of possession, fired off 17 total shots, and had an expected goal of 2.77. If the squad can be clinical with their finishing, they should have a chance of beating Dortmund.
