Konrad Laimer discusses his Bayern Munich transfer
Konrad Laimer has been a key player in the Bundesliga for several years now. Former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann was a a big fan of the RB Leipzig talent, and helped Laimer develop his game in Leipzig. It made perfect sense for Nagelsmann to bring in the Austrian, and was one of Nagelsmann’s last transfer work in Munich. Konrad Laimer recently spoke on his move to the record champions.
Konrad Laimer knew just how strong the Bavarians were before joining, after Bayern had bested the Leipzig side several times during his time in the Bundesliga. Funny enough though, Konrad Laimer just about robbed Bayern Munich of their title last season with a stunning goal, if it wasn’t for Borussia Dortmund’s collapse on the final matchday. It would be interesting to see how that impacted the locker room this season.
Laimer on his move to Bayern: “I’ve been in the Bundesliga for a long time and knew the players. Of course that was an advantage. Everyone welcomed me really well. We have so many good players so you can learn a lot here. At FC Bayern it’s all about the big things. For all of us it’s just about wanting to win. You notice that every time we meet. This spirit is lived here and I feel comfortable with it.”
Laimer has stated that he has felt welcome so far in Bavaria. While his time in Munich has not been stellar thus far, he has shown his versatility, a trait vital in Bayern’s current roster. Laimer loves the winning spirit and has appeared to buy fully into the system. Time will tell how Laimer fits into the picture in future months.
