Juventus turns down chance to sign Daniel Maldini this summer

July 21, 2026

Daniel Maldini needs to find a new club as Atalanta are looking to move him on after his poor loan spell at Lazio last season. Interestingly, his manager during that period, Maurizio Sarri, is now the coach of Atalanta, creating an unusual situation for the player.

Juventus have previously admired the latest Maldini and could have considered making a move for his signature during this transfer window. However, his development has not matched the expectations many had for him because of the success achieved by his father and grandfather.

Juventus Step Away From Maldini Interest
Maldini is already searching for stability in his career, and a move to Juventus could have provided him with that opportunity. However, the Bianconeri are currently not interested in bringing him to the club this summer.

Juventus’ interest in his signature is no longer as strong as it was, and Maldini is not among the players that Luciano Spalletti wants the club to add to their squad during the current transfer window.

The Bianconeri believe Maldini would not provide enough to improve their squad, and they already have several players they are attempting to move on from before adding further options.

Maldini Searches for Next Opportunity
Maldini now faces the challenge of finding another club where he can rebuild his career and establish himself. Despite his reputation because of his family background, he has struggled to reach the level many expected after leaving AC Milan.

Juventus have decided that adding Maldini would not be the right move for their current plans. The club are focused on improving their squad and avoiding unnecessary additions that may not provide the required impact.

For Maldini, the priority will be finding a team where he can receive opportunities and regain confidence. His next move could be important as he looks to create his own path and prove his ability away from the expectations linked to his family name.
