Juventus considering Beto as January transfer target

October 13, 2024

Juventus are exploring options to strengthen their attack in the January transfer window, with Everton striker Beto emerging as a potential target. The Italian giants are looking for a backup to Dusan Vlahovic, who has been heavily relied upon this season, playing 758 minutes across 9 appearances in Serie A and Champions League.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report that the need for reinforcement stems from Arkadiusz Milik’s prolonged absence due to injury. Milik, who underwent meniscus surgery in June, recently had another procedure, leaving his return date uncertain. This situation has prompted Juventus’ sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli to consider alternatives.

Beto, the 26-year-old Portuguese striker, has caught Juventus’ attention. During his two-year stint at Udinese, Beto consistently reached double figures in goals. However, his move to Everton has not been as successful, with limited playing time this season – just 43 minutes in the Premier League and 7 appearances overall.

Juventus is monitoring Beto’s situation, potentially eyeing a six-month loan deal. However, this move depends on several factors, including Milik’s recovery timeline and Everton’s willingness to loan out the player. The involvement of the Friedkin Group, who own both Roma and Everton, could also influence any potential deal.

Other options being considered include Lorenzo Lucca from Udinese, who has had a strong start to the season, and Giacomo Raspadori from Napoli, though the latter seems unlikely due to Napoli’s reluctance to strengthen a direct rival. Daniel Maldini of Monza is also on Juventus’ radar as a versatile offensive option.
