Juventus change stance on Aston Villa target McKennie
Weston McKennie is not training separately at Juventus and will be involved in the pre-season tour in the USA, but according to reports in Italy, he remains on the market.
The USMNT international was expected to train separately alongside other players on the market and not join the team in the pre-season tour in the USA next week.
However, new Juventus Football Director Cristiano Giuntoli said during his first press conference on Tuesday that the ex-Leeds loanee is still part of the project.
All Italian sports papers, including Il Corriere dello Sport report McKennie is not training separately at Continassa and will be part of the team flying to the USA.
Aston Villa and Borussia Dortmund are among the clubs interested in the American midfielder and Juventus are still open to listening to offers, but there are currently no negotiations at an advanced stage.
McKennie returned to the Allianz Stadium after Leeds’ relegation from the Premier League in 2022-23. He had joined the English side on loan with an option to buy this past January.
