Joao Felix opens up on Man Utd transfer interest
Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix has insisted he was never made aware of any transfer interest from Manchester United over the summer.
The Red Devils were linked with a sensational €130m move for the Portugal international, but a deal never seemed close to materialising.
And Felix has revealed to Marca that he was not informed of Atletico receiving any offer for him, insisting such a prospect was out of his hands.
When asked directly about United’s interest in particular, he replied: “Nothing came to me, it’s things from the [club] president. I’m here [at Atletico
Felix was also asked by US press about Cristiano Ronaldo’s form amid his struggles at United and with the World Cup on the horizon.
“Cristiano is always Cristiano, even if he is not playing,” Felix said. “It’s a honour for us to have him in the team. Even if he is 37, it’s always good for us to count on him.
“I think that the fact the team Manchester [United] is not doing well, that will not affect our national team and we’ll have a great World Cup.”
