Joan Jordan cuts holiday short as Rangers make bid for brand new transfer

Sevilla midfielder Joan Jordan has cut his holiday short this summer as Rangers saw a loan bid swiftly rejected this week.

The Spanish outlet reported via its website on 14 July that Sevilla believe Jordan’s time with the club has ended and are looking to offload him this summer.

Despite the interest from Philippe Clement, the 30-year-old feels his future still lies in Spain rather than elsewhere, at this moment in time.

Although Rangers have already added a plethora of talent to their ranks this summer, they have all seemed to have one thing in common.

That being, most of the players added have been younger options in preparation for the future.

Granted, the arrivals thus far have all been up to a standard that could make them regular first-team players next season.

But, it feels unfair to rely on the likes of 21-year-old Hamza Igamane [Moroccan Grinta, 4 July] to lead the Gers’ attack by himself, for example.

The same goes for Connor Barron, the youngster was evidently brought in to help somewhat fill the void left by the exits of John Lundstram and Ryan Jack but he cannot be solely relied upon.

Further additions to Rangers’ ranks are definitely needed but experience will be key. Jordan would be an ideal transfer to not only add that but to help players such as Barron develop into the best players they can be.
