Jamie Carragher has admitted his former side aren’t ready to win the title this season after they dropped crucial points when on the road to Luton – but he knows how to fix it

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has admitted his former side are not ready to win the league this season when appearing on Sky Sports.

The Reds struggled against Luton at Kenilworth Road on Sunday afternoon – with Luis Diaz rescuing a single point from the bench. “Liverpool aren’t ready to win the league,” Carragher admitted in the post-match analysis.

“I think Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool supporters know that right now – they want to get back in the top four. But in terms of challenging for the league again, I think they need a new midfield player and a new defender.”
