Inter set to sign Pavard

August 22, 2023

Inter Milan are set to sign Benjamin Pavard from Bayern Munich after the two clubs reached an agreement in principle over the proposed transfer, according to Fabrizio Romano. Inter are believed to have agreed to pay a fee of €30 million for the France international, along with minor add-ons to come on top of that amount.

Pavard was previously linked strongly with a move to the Premier League, as Manchester United and Liverpool both considered defensive additions to their ranks. However, it seems the 27-year-old will be moving to Italy to join the Champions League runners-up instead.

Pavard was a product of the academy at LOSC Lille and spent three years with VfB Stuttgart, before signing for Bayern in 2019. In the four years gone since, he made a total of 163 appearances for the club, scoring 12 goals and producing as many assists. Apart from the 2018 World Cup trophy and the 2022 World Cup silver medal, his trophy haul includes four Bundesliga titles, one German Cup, two German Super Cups, as well as the 2020 Champions League, followed by the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.
