‘IF HE DOESN’T KNOW’ – TONI KROOS DRAWN ON KYLIAN MBAPPÉ’S REAL MADRID ARRIVAL
When all was said and done, it was the former who emerged on the right side of the result, a rejuvenated Germany outfit keeping Mbappé and his France teammates impressively quiet en route to a 2-0 victory.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, it therefore came as little surprise when France’s talisman, and his future beyond the summer, was put to Kroos.
Mbappé is of course widely expected to link up with Carlo Ancelotti’s Real with a view to next season, amid ongoing negotiations between the parties over the terms of a pre-contract.
Asked for his take on the likelihood of as much coming to fruition, however, Kroos was typically blunt in his response.
“Mbappé? If he doesn’t know his future, how will I know?” the 34-year-old concluded.
Speaking to TVE, as cited by Spanish journalist Arancha Rodríguez, Kroos continued:
“We want the best players in Madrid and he is undoubtedly one of them. The important thing is to win things and of course it would be nice for Madrid, but I think we already have a good team.”
