Ibrahimovic to leave AC Milan with future unclear
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 41, is leaving AC Milan and will bid goodbye in the Serie A season finale on Sunday.
“AC Milan would like to thank Zlatan for the great years we have spent together,” the club announced on Saturday, adding that a short ceremony “with the participation of all the fans” will be held after the final whistle of the home game with Hellas Verona.
It remains to be seen whether or where the Swede will continue his career after picking up two Serie A titles with the club.
Ibrahimovic returned to Milan from LA Galaxy just over three years ago but his second spell has been injury-hit. He has also played for Malmo, Ajax, Juventus, Inter, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United.
This season he is the oldest outfield player in Serie A and crowned himself the oldest goal scorer in the history of the league. At 41 years and 166 days old, the striker eclipsed former Milan defender Alessandro Costacurta.
