Harry Kane tells Phil Foden & Cole Palmer what Thomas Tuchel is really like
Harry Kane has been telling his England teammates including Phil Foden and Cole Palmer about what to expect from new manager Thomas Tuchel, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that there is ‘a lot of excitement’ in the England camp over the appointment of ‘proven winner’ Tuchel, 51.
After winning trophies at Chelsea, PSG, Dortmund, and Bayern Munich, Tuchel is the most successful manager to ever get the England job.
The German has been entrusted with the mission of bringing football home, putting pen to paper on an 18-month deal that will see him lead the team through the 2026 World Cup.
Tuchel has worked with several English players during his club career, most notably overseeing Harry Kane, 31, during the most prolific season of his career in 2023-24.
The England captain scored 44 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions under Tuchel’s guidance at Bayern Munich last season but failed to lift the Bundesliga title.

Phil Foden, 24, was named both the 2023/24 Premier League Player of the Season and PFA Players’ Player of the Year after an outstanding campaign, scoring 27 goals and providing 12 assists across all competitions for the Premier League champions.
Despite Foden’s stellar season, he lost out to fellow Man City academy graduate Cole Palmer, 22, who was named the 2023-24 England Men’s Player of the Year.
Palmer’s meteoric rise since joining Chelsea has seen him make more Premier League goal contributions than any other player since the start of last season, 43 in total.
The two, arguably England’s top young talents, have sought Kane’s advice on what to expect from their new manager.
