Gundogan takes decision on joining Arsenal from Man City

June 4, 2023

Arsenal ‘s priority target for the summer transfer window is West Ham United captain Declan Rice.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is keen to bolster his options in midfield this summer and The Times have now reported that Mikel Arteta’s side are unwilling to match the Hammers’ valuation of Rice, which is said to be in the region of £100 million including add-ons.

Rice is claimed to favour a move to the Emirates Stadium over Newcastle, who have shown interest in prising the England international away from east London.

Despite some reports to the contrary, Arsenal are yet to submit an official offer for Galatasaray right-back Sacha Boey, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

Writing on Twitter, Romano said: “Arsenal have not made any proposal for Sacha Boey at this stage, despite reports. Been told there was no meeting with his new agents, just one of many players appreciated but not a negotiation as things stand.

“#AFC Galatasaray want more than €20m for their right back.”

According to Sport, Manchester City captain Ilkay Gundogan is ready to ‘close the chapter’ on his spell in the Premier League and has been convinced to join La Liga champions Barcelona.

Gundogan is into the final four weeks of his contract at the Etihad Stadium, meaning he is available for a free transfer this summer if he doesn’t agree on fresh terms with Pep Guardiola’s side. Barcelona are claimed to have offered the German midfielder a three-year contract, an additional 12 months to the initial two-year proposal.
