GdS: Giroud returns to Milan and should make derby – the decision Pioli faces Sempre Milan
Olivier Giroud sustained an injury in France’s win over Ireland and the decision has now been made to send him back to Milano. The derby is up next and the striker should make the game, a report claims.
The Frenchman experienced a pain in his ankle and was forced to leave the game against Ireland early. Calming reports arrived after full-time and as per Gazzetta Dello Sport (see photo below), optimism has filtered from Milan.
Giroud will be back in Milano today and he will begin the recovery immediately. Previous tests have ruled out an injury and the striker thus needs to get rid of the pain, which Milan are optimistic that he will be able to do before the derby.
The schedule that has been drawn up states that he should be back in group training on September 14, Thursday that is, just two days before the big game. However, it’s possible that he could be back in training already on Wednesday as well.
Pioli will then have to make a decision regarding his physical condition, but two or three training sessions should be enough to get him into shape.
