GdS: Attack on the Danes – Milan Hoping to fill two gaps with €38m duo
There are about two and a half months left until the transfer window reopens, but the AC Milan directors are already thinking about how they can strengthen the squad.
According to this morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below), the eyes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Geoffrey Moncada have fallen on two Danish players, namely the winger Andreas Skov Olsen and the midfielder Morten Frendrup.
There are no negotiations for now and that these are just two ideas for the winter mercato. The management plan to wait and see how Ismael Bennacer’s recovery from a serious calf injury will evolve and understand if Samuel Chukwueze and Noah Okafor will finally be able to give the hoped-for contribution.
If the Nigerian and the Swiss continue to struggle, then Skov Olsen could become something concrete. The winger plays for Club Brugge and therefore the Champions League meeting after the break will give a chance to have a first-hand look at him.
Skov Olsen knows Serie A well because he played for Bologna for over two years. He plays mainly on the right, but can also adapt to the opposite flank, and his current market value is somewhere around €15-18m.
If the possible arrival of Skov Olsen will depend on the performance of Chukwueze and Okafor in the coming weeks, that of Frendrup is strictly linked to how the recovery of Bennacer will proceed, who underwent calf surgery on September 16 (estimated recovery time of four months).
The Danish midfielder at Genoa is more of a tackler than a playmaker, so he could represent an interesting deputy to Youssouf Fofana. Like his compatriot, his valuation is around €15-20m. The Ligurian club could be interested in a counterpart like Diego Sia, Hugo Cuenca and Chaka Traorè .
